Lipo in Limbo. Don't rush out to get that Lipodissolve treatment (also known as lipolysis) just yet. MSNBC.com is reporting that the non-surgical fat-zapping procedure is getting some flak from both doctors and patients. The article cites a study in the Aesthetic Surgery Journal which found that approximately 12% of patients were unhappy with the results, including Angie Ross, who experienced "hives head to toe" after her fifth round of shots. The American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery has also determined that rare allergic reactions, infections, and tissue death can sometimes occur. "Critics are careful to say that they haven't ruled injection lipolysis out," reporter M. Susan Wilson writes. "However, until more is known, especially with respect to the procedure's long-term effects, they encourage both patients and doctors to take a wait-and-see approach."
