Is it wrong to want to live forever?

I know a handful of people who don't drink, don't smoke, eat a strict diet, and exercise regularly with grand hopes of riding the short hand on the clock around longer than the rest of us. But at what point do our efforts to live longer and look better tarnish our quality of life in the here and now? In truth, every time I order another drink at dinner or help myself to dessert, I purposely try not to think about the consequences of excess sugar and alcohol on my body or mind. And if get hit by a bus on my way home from the evening, I'll be damn glad if the paramedics smell chocolate and whiskey on my breath instead of wheatgrass. This begs the question: How far would you go - and not go - to add a few years to your life expectancy?
