Is Vaginal Rejuvenation Surgery a No-No?:

It's the latest craze in cosmetic surgery, but is vaginal rejuvenation just an unnecessary, and potentially dangerous, fad?

Reuters is reporting that the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists have deemed "south of the border" surgeries like vaginoplasties and revirginization risky and deceptive.

New guidelines state that vaginal procedures may cause scarring, infections, and other unsavory side effects. ACOG, of which Dr. Abbey Berenson is a member, also found that these trendy new procedures make women feel "abnormal."

"Many women don't realize that the appearance of external genitals varies significantly from woman to woman," Dr. Berenson says. "There are always risks associated with a surgical procedure. It's important that women understand the potential risks of these procedures and that there is no scientific evidence regarding their benefits."

Someone better tell Jordan. Last we heard, she was planning to have her vagina tightened after giving birth to baby number three.

Bad Fad

By Maya - Wednesday, October 3, 2007 - 20:50

It is not a good thing as a fad though some do have good reason for it. I forgot what show I was watching but this Muslim girl had reconstructive surgery because if her family found out she had lost her virginity they would kill/disown her...depending on how harsh the reaction was. Now that makes it a Yes-yes.
