Rose McGowan's Plastic Surgery Overload

A rose by any other name may smell just as sweet, but what about a Rose that's been pumped full of Botox and stitched up? In the case of actress Rose McGowan, her altered looks appear to be stinking up her Hollywood career.

According to MollyGood.com, the altered Rose - best known for her role on "Charmed," as well as for once being engaged to Marilyn Manson - has already lost out on at least one big role. The site quotes an industry insider who says producers passed on casting Rose for the upcoming Speed Racer film because "The studio felt like she was hard to recognize and worried that by the time the movie hit theaters, fans might not know who she was."

Actress Christina Ricci was cast instead.

So what exactly has Rose done to her face?

According to Dlisted, the actress admitted to having plastic surgery, but only because a piece of glass cut her eye during a car accident. However, the gossip site isn't buying it. Many speculate that she has also had Botox injections.

"Um...was the face lift needed, because that's what she had," says Dlisted. "She might have had cheek implants too. I mean...why? She was way hot. ...Homegirl is crazy looking now!"

But don't count Rose McGowan out just yet. She has just landed one major role, signing on as the new Barbarella in a remake of the sci-fi camp classic. Then again, it was her new fiancé, director Robert Rodriguez, who gave her the job, causing Universal Studios to back out in protest, The New York Observer reports.

"She was perfect for this part," Rodriguez says. "She just has that daring look, a sort of classic sexiness that is also kind of futuristic."

Hey, scalpels and Botox are pretty futuristic.
