Male Actors Who've Had Plastic Surgery

We all know about Hollywood's double standard: Actresses go from "leading lady" to "grandma of leading lady" the minute they turn 40, while we're supposed to believe that Jack Nicholson could have an 18-year-old girlfriend (courtside Lakers seats aren't that tempting). What's next-a Dakota Fanning/Robert Redford romantic comedy?

But even those with rugged good looks and Scarlett Johansson's digits need a little confidence booster now and then. It turns out that some of the studly stars we've been drooling over have admitted to getting some work done. Check out our list of our favorite surgery-lovin' fellas.

George Clooney
Despite his anti-BS attitude, even George Clooney couldn't help giving in to one of Hollywood's most honored traditions: an eye lift. (Then again, he did succumb to wearing a cod piece for Batman & Robin, so I guess we shouldn't too surprised.) Clooney spilled the beans this year when pal Julia Roberts interviewed him for an Oprah Winfrey television special. According to The London Telegraph, Clooney told Roberts, "I had my eyes done. Can you tell? I think it's important to look awake." No argument there, though it's a bit ironic considering that he's one of the most-requested faces when regular men are seeking plastic surgery.

Clive Owen Clive Owen

Clive Owen
British heartthrob Clive Owen doesn't mind admitting that he's gone under the knife-he just doesn't want you to know where. ContactMusic.com has reported that the Closer star has refused to specify the procedures he's had. Says Clive, "I've had tons of surgery done, but I can't say what on." Hmmm...enquiring minds want to know! Was it a face lift? Rhinoplasty? Penile implants? Gender reassignment? The mind reels...
Michael Douglas Michael Douglas

Michael Douglas
Okay, so Douglas has never publicly admitted to plastic surgery, but how else is a senior citizen supposed to keep up with Catherine Zeta-Jones? London's The Sun has speculated about facial cuts and bandages Douglas has sported in the past, writing, "Veteran actor Michael Douglas nips out for some tucker with his sexy young wife Catherine Zeta Jones-and shows tell-tale signs of plastic surgery."

CelebrityCosmeticSurgery.blogspot.com's Dr. Anthony Youn also says, "From what I've seen, it appears to me that he's had at least two facelifts in the past." Facelift or not, there's no way we bought his marriage to Gwyneth Paltrow in A Perfect Murder.

Ryan Reynolds Ryan Reynolds

Vanity isn't always the impetus behind plastic surgery; sometimes a trip to the emergency room will do the trick. Hunky Ryan Reynolds recently had to get a touch-up when he cut his face in an accident. According to In Case You Didn't Know, Reynolds said, "I was walking through the bathroom in my house, I went down, I smashed my head open, blood poured everywhere, and then I got plastic surgery to fix it. I'm an actor, we're supposed to (get it) anyway. ...I'm having trouble breathing out of one of my nipples, so I'm gonna get my boobs done next." Ooh-something to look forward to!
David HasselhoffDavid Hasselhoff

David Hasselhoff
Geez-is there anyone in the Baywatch cast who's completely all-natural? Apparently not. David Hasselhoff-who, though today better known as a total cheeseball with a taste for booze and parenting issues, was a mega-hunk in his day-revealed to People, "I have had Botox, everyone has. ...I haven't had that in a year. I take pride in that. I am going to keep this natural until I have to." Hasselhoff says he's never gotten full-on plastic surgery, but we're not sure if he grasps the full meaning of "natural."
Clint Eastwood Clint Eastwood

Clint Eastwood

A few years ago, Clint Eastwood told LA Weekly that, "Other than a belt sander, there's nothing they can do for me. Plastic surgery used to be a thing where older people would try to go into this dream world of being 28 years old again. But now, in Hollywood, even people at 28 are having work done. Society has made us believe you should look like an 18-year-old model all your life. But I figure I might as well just be what I am." Famous last words. Last we saw ol' Dirty Harry, he'd gone from wrinkled to somewhat fresh-faced (well, for 77, at least). Says Cityrag.blogs.com, "It looks like he's spent a fist full of dollars ironing-out his trademark squinty eyes and rough face that have filled the screen with a quiet steadfast passion for many decades." For those keeping track at home, Eastwood's wife is 42.
Al Pacino Al Pacino

Al Pacino
It's safe to assume that a legend like Al Pacino isn't hurting for acting jobs, but AwfulPlasticSurgery.com claims that he underwent a facelift and brow lift in 1995, in addition to having his nose shaved. Hoo-ha! The pictures are pretty convincing, but at least the work looks pretty natural. Pacino's "little friend" may be a scalpel, but he's still got the rugged, worn-in look we all love.
David BeckhamDavid Beckham

David Beckham
He's not an actor, but he's definitely hot enough to me (and there is that whole Bend it like Beckham street cred). That's especially true now that rumors have surfaced that the British soccer player has recently had Botox injections. According to EntertainmentWise.com, plastic surgeon Alex Karidis told Britain's "News of the World," "He used to have a large line across his forehead which seems to have vanished. He has all the hallmarks of a Botox forehead. He also appears to have had a lift on his eyebrows, that can often happen when Botox is injected into that area. And there were quite deep crow's feet around the eyes a couple of years ago. These seem to have almost disappeared. Changes like this in other celebrities are usually thanks to Botox. It could be that he's also used fillers on his nose-to-mouth lines. These used to be quite prominent in pictures. Usually these things get worse, not better, with age. But Beckham seems to have lost them and looks much younger now." Well, that's one way to fit into LA.
Patricks SwayzePatricks Swayze

Patrick Swayze

Sigh...remember when Patrick Swayze was the hottest thing since, like, the creation of fire? Now he's the victim of an apparent too-tight facelift-it's a transformation scarier than the one he made in To Wong Foo. Writes Surgeon-Directory.com, "Patrick used to look good but now he looks awful. It's like looking a totally different person." Baby may not belong in a corner, but his new look does.
Burt ReynoldsBurt Reynolds

Burt Reynolds
In 2004, Reynolds shared his views on plastic surgery with TheInsiderOnline.com: "My position is sixteen times is way too many. Lips now are the size of inner tubes and I don't like to bounce off lips. I get whiplash. I think once, if you want a little nip and tuck, that's fine, but then that's it." Interesting, considering Reynolds himself has a face that's obviously been the recipient of an overly tight facelift. It almost looks like a smile would make the whole thing rip apart. Careful, Burt!
