MSNBC is reporting that a doctor in Rome, Italy has performed vaginal reconstructive surgery for two women suffering from a rare congenital disorder which essentially leaves them without a functional vagina. Dr. Cinzia Marchese is the first to create vaginal tissue using the patients' own stem cells, and notes that the procedure could help "women with cancer and other vaginal complaints."
