Virginia MadsenCelebrities Who Admit to Having Had Plastic Surgery

When it comes to being telling the truth, actors rank somewhere between lawyers and wooden puppets on the honesty scale. That hidden camera drug scandal? "I was just blowing my nose." That tryst with a co-star? "We're just friends." That driver's license suspension violation? "My publicist said it was okay."
Surprisingly, though, there are a handful of celebs who don't mind baring all. The stars below have all copped to having had some work down, and while Hollywood may not be a town that rewards honesty, we've got to give them props for coming clean.
Virginia Madsen
If you're going to open up about your use of wrinkle fillers, you might as well get an endorsement deal out of it. That's what Sideways actress Virginia Madsen did, becoming the spokesperson for Allergan, Inc. (which makes Botox and Juvederm) before admitting that she-hey, what do you know?-had used Botox and Juvederm. In an interview with People, the 45-year-old Madsen said, "I made a lot of choices to keep myself youthful and strong. I work out. I eat good foods. And I also get injectables, and I just felt like it was really important for us to discuss the safety issues. ...I lost the lines, but I still look like me, which is the result that I think many people want to experience." (Shhh...don't tell Nicole Kidman.)
Carnie WilsonCarnie Wilson
Desperate times call for desperate measures. And when Chris Farley is playing you in "Saturday Night Live" sketches, times are desperate. Singer/talk show host Carnie Wilson, tipping the scales at 311 pounds, decided to take measures into her own hands by undergoing gastric bypass surgery eight years ago. Naturally, she did what any spotlight-seeking Z-lister would do: alert the media and pose for Playboy. "I don't have any panicked feelings about eating anymore," Wilson told USA Today in 2003. "That disappeared when I had my surgery. The self discipline is easier food-wise with gastric bypass, but the discipline to exercise is really a constant challenge for me." Wilson still struggles with her weight (she recently completed a stint on "Celebrity Fit Club"), but she's in a much healthier-and leaner-situation post-surgery.
Roseanne BarrRoseanne Barr
There's not much Roseanne Barr isn't vocal about, so when the comedienne sought cosmetic surgery in the 1990s, she didn't try to hide it. In an interview with Larry King, Barr-who had a facelift, eyelid surgery, and nose job-admitted that the procedures turned her off further work. "The doctor dropped the scalpel in my face, so I had to go back and be cut open again to remove the scalpel from my face. ...And my nose always runs and you know, it's just crazy. I wouldn't do it again, but you know, at that time it was like, you get into this thing here where...there's this subtle pressure to try to look right and especially for women. So you know, I tried to go with it for awhile." Barr also talked to ETonline.com about her new outlook: "They say to do it when you are 40 and it will carry you through the rest of your life. It's been 14 years, so it's a long time ago. I don't think about it anymore and it won't happen anymore." Hopefully that rule of thumb also applies to marrying Tom Arnold and crotch-grabbing during the National Anthem.
The OsbournesThe Osbournes
The couple that goes under the knife together, stays together. Both Ozzy and Sharon have copped to a litany of cosmetic procedures. Him: Facelift and rhinoplasty; her: facelift, breast augmentation, stomach stapling, brow lift, leg lift, butt lift, liposuction, and, last but not least, a tummy tuck. According to FemaleFirst.co.uk, Sharon has admitted spending over £120,000 on her habit. "I love cosmetic surgery," she is quoted as saying. "I don't mind getting older, but if it all started sagging, I'd have the whole lot done again."
Jamie Lee CurtisJamie Lee Curtis
This actress gave 40-year-old women hope with her sexy striptease in the film True Lies. But maybe her hot bod was the result of more than just dieting and a good personal trainer. In an interview with More, in which she agreed to be photographed sans makeup and airbrushing, the candid star confessed to getting plastic surgery. ""I've had a little plastic surgery. I've had a little lipo. I've had a little Botox. And you know what? None of it works. None of it." We doubt The Governator would agree.
Joan Rivers Joan Rivers
"I wish I had a twin, so I could know what I look like without plastic surgery," Joan Rivers is quoted as saying. The facelift queen prides herself on her honesty about surgery. Rivers told ModernandMature.co.uk, "The worst thing about plastic surgery is that everybody is doing it and won't tell you. Lying isn't the word-they will tell you about their sex life or how much money they have in the bank of course, but when it comes to cosmetic surgery they won't say a thing. It makes me so mad because there's all this stuff about how women should stick together, except when it comes to looking better than each other." We're sure Joan would frown if she could.
Gene SimmonsGene Simmons
Some stars don't want to just tell you about their cosmetic surgery-they want to show you it. When Gene Simmons recently went in for a facelift, lipo, and brow lift, he brought along partner Shannon Tweed (who settled with some lipo and a facial peel) and a camera crew for his "Family Jewels" reality show. "I am more in love with myself than ever before," Simmons told ETonline.com. "I have been delusional about my looks since I was a kid. There is no hope for me now. I am staying with me forever." Explained B-movie actress Tweed, ""We were old and saggy, and we had to pick some stuff up and put it back where it used to be."
Dolly PartonDolly Parton
Dolly Parton and plastic surgery go together like Tommy Lee and sexy blondes. The straight-shooting country singer told TheInsiderOnline.com, "If you've got the money and the nerve and the desire to do that, well I don't see nothing wrong with it. I've said before, if I see something saggin', baggin' and draggin', I'm gonna nip it, tuck it and pluck it!" Or, in her case, implant it-there's no way those boobs are real.
Shilpa ShettyShilpa Shetty
Bollywood star Shetty made headlines when she was the focus of racial taunting during the British filming of "Celebrity Big Brother," and nearly got Richard Gere thrown in an India slammer when he showered her with kisses at a recent public event. Maybe Richard wouldn't have been quite so amorous if Shetty still had her original nose. Yep, that's right-she's one of the few stars to admit to getting a nose job. According to AOL, Shetty's spokesperson said, ""She has always been open and honest about the fact that she has had a nose job. It's quite a normal thing for Bollywood actresses to have done. She had it done at the start of her career."
Adrianne CurryAdrianne Curry
The "America's Next Top Model" winner/Brady wife is known for her big mouth, so she certainly didn't mind telling the world about her breast augmentation. According to HollyScoop.com, Curry claimed that she got surgery in order to alleviate unevenly sized, sagging breasts. Whatever the reason, the exposure (no pun intended) she received could probably pay for a new set of implants.
