Unless celebrities are trying to hide bad teeth or, worse yet, no teeth, I simply can't understand why some choose to inflate their lips to such a degree that their upper lip hugs both nostrils when they smile. According to plastic surgeon Dr. Tony Youn, CelebrityCosmeticSurgery.blogspot.com, lips are not meant to be the same size. "The lower lip," he explains, "should be about 1:5 times the size of the upper lip." Not 1:1. Below is a list of 26 celebrities who, at some point in their career, clearly failed to read Youn's lip service memo before scheduling an appointment with their doc.

According to AwfulPlasticSurgery.com, Aguilera fell victim to the lip-plumping craze in 2006. Although it appears the 26-year-old singer, songwriter, and five time Grammy award winner, is now opting for a more natural looking face, The National Enquirer reports Christina Aguilera's outfit at the Grammy Awards was her way of showing off the breast enlargement surgery she underwent two years ago. A friend of Christina's told the tabloid, "'Christina is no longer concealing the big-girl boobs she got from a plastic surgeon. At first she was hesitant to show off her new figure.'" I don't know about you, but if I had my own genie in a bottle, I would've asked for somethin' a little different.

42-year-old Rocker and Golden Globe-nominated actress Courtney Love has recently been making the news for her drastic weight loss.

On April 5, 2007, ThisLondon.co.uk reported, "The Hole front woman unveiled a dramatically slimmed down body on the beaches of Maui this week and is crediting her 44-pound-and-counting weight loss on a more positive outlook overall." Although the website offers plenty of pics, they fail to offer "the particular weight-loss program the former wife of dead rocker Kurt Cobain chose to shed the excess pounds."

No stranger to bad plastic surgery, on January 6, 2007, WildStarz.blogspot.com claimed Ms. Love underwent, "rhinoplasty and lip surgery during a pre-Christmas trip to France. Sources claim the star visited a surgeon in Paris, who specializes in fixing cosmetic disasters. A friend of Love, who has sported collagen-pumped lips for years, tells Us Weekly magazine, 'She's happy to have her mouth back.'... Asked if she had undergone surgery in France, Love said, 'I'm not going to comment on that tonight. I just think me looking human is cool.' Ironically, Love announced she'd be giving up plastic surgery as part of a list of New Year's Resolutions she posted on her new website. She vowed, 'No more surgery for any reason other than medical until I really need it in my 60s.'"

Why did Love blow up her lips in the first place? On March 19, 2006, HollywoodRag.com explained, "the troubled punk princess... may have had collagen injections for a full-lipped look to help get her career back on track." Now let's just hope Courtney's new lips keep her out of the courtroom, or her lawyer may just have to sew that ever changing mouth of hers shut.

51-year-old Italian fashion designer Donatella Versace is Vice-President of the Versace Group and Chief Designer of the fashion line that her late brother, Gianni Versace, made famous.

Bastardly.com believes Donatella's obsession with plastic surgery began soon after the murder of Gianni. According the website, Donatella has surgically altered her "lips, cheeks, eyes, nose & everything else Gucci Board of Directors would allow her to expense. [And] she did all of the above while lying inside a tanning bed."

"Donatella Versace is in the midst of a lip collagen disaster!" exclaimed AwfulPlasticSurgery.com in a 2004 post. "Her lips have blown up twice their original size."

Cinebizarre.com claims the 43-year-old Emmanuelle Béart was a "plausible choice as most beautiful woman alive, at least until she went collagen crazy recently and got what the catty European press delights in referring to as 'duck lips.'"

41-year-old Heidi Lynne Fleiss, more commonly referred to as the "Hollywood Madam", was released from a California prison in 1999 after serving 21 months for money laundering, tax evasion and attempted pandering. As reported by CrimeLibrary.com, "Fleiss was convicted in 1995 of running a prostitution ring in which models-turned-prostitutes were flown around the world to meet wealthy actors and clients who paid as much as $10,000 for a single meeting."

Not long after her release from jail, as reported by GibbsMagazine.com, Fleiss was quoted as saying she had undergone cosmetic surgery on her lips, ears, eyes, and breasts. "'Being in prison with no skin care really does a number on you,' she said. 'You're out in that recreation yard with the sun beating down on you. It really ages you prematurely.'"

According to Heidi's website, HeidiFleiss.com, "Heidi, now lives in Crystal, Nevada where she is opening Heidi's Stud Farm, the first luxury brothel where women can pick and choose the man of their dreams." Although to my knowledge the brothel is not yet open for business, as of October 2006, Heidi's website claims her latest business venture is moving forward.

52-year-old Janice Dickinson is the self-proclaimed first American supermodel, fashion photographer, actress and author. She has also recently opened her own modeling agency, the Janice Dickinson Modeling Agency. According to the HollywoodRag, the "former model has admitted to the following procedures: tummy tuck, two breast enhancements, a brow lift, a mini face lift, upper and lower eye lifts, liposuction, fat grafting to her cheeks, a chemical peel, Botox every six weeks, and porcelain veneers on her teeth."

In a May 2006 post on CelebrityCosmeticSurgery, Michigan-based Board Certified Plastic Surgeon Dr. Tony Youn offers up his explanation for Ms. Dickinson's unnaturally large lips.

"In my opinion," Youn says, "the only way to get lips that big and stiff-looking is through an implant. The most common implants that I see are made of Gore-tex, which I have in my winter jacket. Because they are not a patient's own tissue (like fat) or absorbable liquid (like collagen or Restylane), they often do not look as realistic, and can make the lips look more stiff than typical lips. This is most apparent when a person speaks or smiles."

As reported by BuddyTV.com, Dickinson has written several books including No Lifeguard On Duty, Everything About Me is Fake... And I'm Perfect, and Check Please!: Dating, Mating, and Extricating. As a model, she appeared on the cover of Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, Cosmopolitan and Playboy among others. Her popularity escalated with her stint as a judge on America's Next Top Model, and as a housemate on the fifth season of The Surreal Life where she constantly butted heads with original The Apprentice diva Omarosa Manigault-Stallworth.

According the San Francisco Chronicle, last month Ms. Dickinson was banned from LA Fashion Week after refusing to take her allocated seat at one of the shows. Dickinson then "caused a scene backstage" when she stuck her foot in a giant tub of ice after claiming a model "broke her toe."

According to Forbes.com, 32-year-old porn star Jenna Jameson "has transcended the sex trade to become a bona fide celebrity, hounded by the tabloids and fervid fans." Her memoir, "How to Make Love Like a Porn Star", spent six weeks on the New York Times bestseller list in 2004.

Dr. DiSaia, CosmeticSurgeryTruth.blogspot.com, stated in a February 27, 2007 post that, "she looks too thin with lips looking like a bit too much filler has been applied." These days, however, Jenna's other lips are the ones making headlines.

MakeMeHeal.com recently reported that Jameson has not been showing up to her Hollywood studio meetings because of an ill-fated vaginoplasty that has left her very unhappy with the results. Since the vaginoplasty, the star has allegedly gone into hiding until her valuable privates heal or are re-done.

"Dr. David Matlock, the leading surgeon for vaginoplasties, was previously interviewed by Make Me Heal about vaginoplasties and explains: 'We perform two categories of procedures, laser vaginal rejuvenation (LVR) for the enhancement of sexual gratification and designer laser vaginoplasty (DLV) for the aesthetic enhancement of the vulva structures. LVR is primarily for women who have had children and as a result of childbirth they are experiencing vaginal relaxation. This vaginal relaxation results in decreased sexual gratification for the female. LVR enhances vaginal muscle tone, strength and control. It also decreases the internal and external vaginal diameters and builds up the perineal body (the area outsets the vagina and above the anus). DLV consist of numerous aesthetic procedures of the vulvar structures. The most requested is laser reduction labioplasty of the labia minora. The laser procedure sculptures down the labia minora. Women state that they don't want the labia minora to project beyond the labia majora (large outer lips). We can perform most anything one desires of the vulvar structures (reduction of the labia majora, liposculpturing of the fatty mons pubis and labia majora, autologous fat transplant to the labia majora to enhance them, correct deformities, combination procedures (LVR plus DLV).'"

Both AwfulPlasticSurgery.com and Bastardly.com think Jessica Biel's lips are the result of collagen injections. Personally, as much as I would like to believe no woman can be named Esquire magazine's "Sexiest Woman Alive" without being cosmetically altered (Biel received the title in 2005), after looking through her photos I think the 25-year-old actress is the real deal. According to Wikipedia, the Minnesota native was also ranked #5 by AskMen.com readers in the list "Top 99 Women 2007".

Biel is best known for her role as Mary Camden in the long-running family-drama series 7th Heaven and her roles in Hollywood feature films, most notably Summer Catch (2001), the 2003 remake of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and The Illusionist (2006).

Jessica Simpson admits to having lip injections. According to CelebrityCosmeticSurgery.blogspot.com, in an interview with Glamour magazine, Jessica stated:

"'I had that Restylane stuff... It looked fake to me. I didn't like that. But...it went away in, like, four months. My lips are back to what they were. Thank God!'"

In a February 2006 post on the website, Dr. Tony Youn answers questions surrounding Ms. Simpson's much photographed 2006 trout mouth.

"It seems that in her post-Nick Lachey life," Youn explains, "[Simpson] spent a bit more time with her plastic surgeon. It is already pretty apparent that she has had her breasts and nose done, but now she has focused on the kisser. It appears that she has had Restylane injections to her lips, and did not think twice about going out in public soon thereafter. Restylane is one of the newest injectable fillers, and is made of hyaluronic acid, a substance naturally found in human skin. It lasts anywhere from 4-8 months, and is used to fill in wrinkles or the lips. I charge approximately $500 for a 1 cc syringe, which is usually enough to get a nice improvement in the lips or smile lines. I would estimate that she had anywhere from 1-2 cc injected. Those lips are made for talkin'!"

To my knowledge, Jocelyn "Cat Woman" Wildenstein has never appeared in a movie or on stage as an actress or a singer. She's earned her celebrity status, making the tabloids time-and-time again, with her insatiable appetite for cosmetic surgery. Just how many elective procedures has she had? I'm guessing it's close to the number of presidential scandals to hit the airways since Nixon.

Born in Switzerland in 1940, the 67 year old has allegedly spent almost 4 million BIG ONES on various cosmetic procedures. According to Wikipedia, "Some people believe that she had the surgeries done in order to win back the affections of her billionaire husband, Alec Wildenstein, who shared her interest in exotic wild cats."

It looks as if Ms. Wildenstein may also be a fan of the 1985 film, Mask. There's a striking resemblance between her and the film's main character, 'Rocky' Dennis (played by Eric Stoltz), a boy with a massive skull deformity. Cher plays Rocky's mother, Rusty Dennis, in the film. To quote my favorite line from the film: "What's the matter, never seen anyone from the planet Vulcan before?"

In a March 13, 2007 post on CelebrityCosmeticSurgery.blogspot.com, Dr. Tony Youn reveals the advice he would offer Ms. Wildenstein were she to visit his office for a consult:

1. No more plastic surgery unless it is to correct the previous work that has been done.

2. Remove any cheek implants that have been placed. Consider liposuctioning any excess fat grafts which have been put into the cheeks.

3. Refer her to an oculoplastic specialist to consider reversing the apparent canthopexy she's had. This is the procedure that causes the eyes to look slanted and cat-like. Reversal of this surgery would make the eyes look more natural. Technically I could do this, but it is not a surgery I've performed for quite some time.

4. Surgically remove the lip implants she appears to have. This would unfortunately necessitate a cut either at one end of each lip or along the whole lip margin, depending on what substance is in her lips.

5. Surgically remove the chin implant that she appears to have. This may be performed via the mouth. Unfortunately some implants grow into the bone and may be a big problem to remove. These are not the implants that I use, which are easily removed in a 5 minute surgery.

As reported by FemaleFirst.co.uk, 22-year-old "Keira Knightley has blasted reports that she had collagen injections in her lips. The stunning 'Pirates of the Carribbean' star revealed that no-one believes her denials about being cosmetically enhanced.

According to the website, "She said: 'I haven't had my lips done. Can I just say that I haven't. It's the idea people believe it! I've had friends phone me up and I've told them 'Get Lost! Of course I haven't.'"

Strange, considering on March 19, 2006, the Hollywood Rag claims, "Keira Knightley admitted to increasing the size of her top lip: 'I had a larger top line done.'" You be the judge.

AwfulPlasticSurgery.com has a message for 37-year old actress Lara Flynn Boyle: "Duck Lips Aren't Sexy!"

Whoever says prison doesn't change a person, is clearly unfamiliar with controversial rap star Lil' Kim. The 31-year-old recently finished serving a year behind bars for lying to a federal grand jury about a 2001 shootout outside a Manhattan radio station. MediaTakeOut.com received the following anonymous tip shortly after her release.

"'I just heard that Lil Kim hired a Mexican plastic surgeon to give her a face lift. The person that told me said that the doctor was so unprofessional that he did the face-lift surgery in Lil Kim's bathroom. Now they're scared because Kim looks real bad and they're not even sure that the guy was even a doctor.'"

After viewing additional before and after pics on MediaTakeOut.com, I'm starting to wonder if her "surgeon" was also her cellmate. Some of her new features appear to have been carved with the end of a sharpened toothbrush.

AwfulPlasticSurgery.com claims Lil' Kim, "had either lip collagen or an upper lip implant. Her upper lip seems to have 'grown'. Her old lips were prettier." Sorry Kim, I have to agree.

On April 19, 2005, AwfulPlasticSurgery.com blasted Lohan for her "seriously plumped up lips." Though they eventually returned to normal, it appears Lohan may not have learned her lesson.

On March 11, 2007, CelebrityCosmeticSurgery.com posted images of Logan shopping in Mahattan.

"Her lips are looking a bit puffy," Dr. Tony Youn reports, "possibly the result of Restylane or the new Juvederm injectables. If she's had them done recently, the swelling will subside within a couple days and the next time you see her she may look pretty normal. If the swelling is already gone, then she is going to look this way for the next 6 months."

Best known for her role as Billie Reed on Days of our Lives, and for competing in the second season of Dancing with the Stars, 43-year-old Lisa Rinna certainly has some of the most talked about cosmetically enhanced lips in Hollywood.

In February 2006, Michigan based plastic surgeon Dr. Tony Youn explains what may have happened to Lisa Rinna's lips on his website, CelebrityCosmeticSurgery.blogspot.com.

"It appears to me that she has had gortex implants placed into her lips," writes Youn," with one large piece on either side of her cupid's bow (the middle bow-part of the upper lip). Gortex can make the lips look unnatural by creating a stiffness which is obvious when she speaks. The other problem is that her upper and lower lips are out of proportion. The easiest way to spot a pair of unnatural lips is to compare the upper and lower lip sizes. The lower lip should be about 1.5 times the size of the upper lip. In Lisa's case it is 1:1."

Although 41-year-old model Liz Hurley claims she has never had any cosmetic work on her face, leading plastic surgeon Dr. Lucy Glancey told Britain's Daily Mail newspaper she believes the star has had help with her luscious lips.

"'She has quite obviously had some sort of enhancement,'" Glancey explains, "'and it looks like this has been achieved with a semi-permanent injection or Reastilane, which is similar to collagen but lasts much longer.'"

In an April 2, 2007 post on MakeMeHeal.com, the website claims Elizabeth Hurley has undergone "botox injections, likely skin peels, and maybe a....breast augmentation. A few years ago it was already speculated that she had some collagen injected into her lips. They sure look huge and unnatural."

On February 28, 2005, AwfulPlasticSurgery.com writes: "Why is Marg Helgenberger's upper lip lopsided? Too much lip collagen? It looks like it. Injectable fillers like Perlane can cause swelling and inflammation."

On September 17, 2003, AwfulPlasticSurgery.com writes: "Meg Ryan doesn't realize that the bee stung lips look went out with the late 80's. She also is botoxed to death; it looks like it hurts for her to smile. In fact, one onlooker thinks she looks like Susan Dey of LA Law fame!"

In an October 29, 2004 post, AwfulPlasticSurgery.com writes: "Melanie Griffith seriously needs to stop with the lip collagen. She's destroying the natural shape of her lips and it makes her look like Joker from the Batman movies."

I believe plastic surgeon Dr. Tony Youn best describes the problems with the 49-year-old actress' lips on his website CelebrityCosmeticSurgery.blogspot.com.

"Melanie Griffith is becoming a classic example of a Hollywood starlet who has attempted to use plastic surgery to unsuccessfully retain her youthful beauty. During "Working Girl," she had a very nice look," Youn writes, "which has been tampered with too much since then. The most obvious feature is her overly large, misshapen lips. She has augmented her lips too much, causing her to lose the Cupid's bow part of her upper lip. This is likely a sign of a gortex lip implant (a type of plastic that some plastic surgeons use to augment the lips, whereas I use it for the covering on my jacket). The easiest way to spot a gortex implant is to see how the lip moves while the person is talking. The gortex does not allow the lip to move normally, and therefore the lip looks too stiff. I find that the vast majority of patients who get gortex lip implants will later have them removed. Her lip augmentation is a misguided attempt to look young, as a sign of youth is larger lips... In addition to the lips, she appears to have had some Botox to smooth her forehead, and laser treatments and a probable facelift to over tighten her face. This makes her facial movements appear too tight (à la Joan Rivers) and is a sign of too much plastic surgery."

On April 5, 2007, AwfulPlasticSurgery.com writes: "The most risky aspect of collagen injects is an allergic reaction. Sometimes, the reaction can be itching, but other times it can be swelling. Is this why Michelle Pfeiffer's upper lip looks like a catepillar. She has always had very nice lips, especially her top lip with its tiny, delicate cupid's bow. This is the last time I'm going to say this, 'Slug lips are not cute.'"

In contrast, plastic Surgeon Dr. Tony Youn, CelebrityCosmeticSurgery.blogspot.com, believes Pfeiffer's lips are all natural. In a July 25, 2006 post he writes:

"Michelle Pfeiffer told InStyle magazine that she 'toys' with the idea plastic surgery, but isn't ready to go under the knife just yet. 'When I'm rested, I look pretty darn OK. I can hold off on that facelift for another few years,' the 48-year-old said. '(But) when I'm feeling weary, then I think, maybe I better make that appointment." Pfeiffer states that she tries not to 'dwell' on aging despite the pressures to look young in Hollywood. 'Aging happens to every single one of us. Once you accept that, it unburdens you.'

Although I cannot spot any obvious anti-aging work she's had done (except maybe some Botox), it does appear that she has had a rhinoplasty in the past. Her nose," explains Youn, "is very thin and pinched, and looks post-surgical. It has gotten a bit thinner with age. I have found this to be a common finding in post-rhinoplasty patients."

As reported by USMagazine, "Over the years, Nicole Kidman's lips have grown along with her career."

In a February 26, 2007 post on CelebrityCosmeticSurgery.blogspot.com, Dr. Tony Youn offers his opinion on the 39-year-old actress' newly plumped kisser.

"It does appear that her lips have been recently augmented," Youn writes, "likely with an injectable filler like Restylane. Her lips did not seem to move completely normally, possibly because the injectables are a bit firmer than the normal lip tissue."

Nikki Cox

According to AwfulPlasticSurgery.com, 28-yar-old Las Vegas star Nikki Cox is a victim of collagen abuse.

"She's always had lush lips," the website reports, "but now her pucker appears to be bursting at the seams. This look might go over in Hollywood, but to the rest of us, it looks odd. The worst symptom of lip collagen is how it destroys the delicate outline of the lips."

According to Dr. Tony Youn, CelebrityCosmeticSurgery.blogspot.com, "Aside from the obvious lip enhancement, skin care (including lasers and chemical peels), and possible Botox and Restylane injections (which half of Hollywood has anyways), [39-year-old Pamela Anderson] doesn't show any obvious facial plastic surgery. She may have had some fat grafting to enhance the fullness of her cheeks, or this could be due to regular Restylane injections."

Born on August 5, 1959, in Port Sunlight, England, British singer/songwriter Pete Burns is the frontman of the band Dead or Alive. The band is most famous for their number one single, You Spin Me Round (Like a Record) in 1985.

Sadly, these days Burns is better known for his "floatation device" like lips, than he is for his music.

According to ThisIsLondon.co.uk, in January 2007 Burns revealed he was suing his plastic surgeon for an estimated £1 million (roughly 2 million US Dollars) over a botched attempt to remove lip implants, and for "'wrecking his career and life'".

In a January 25, 2007 post on uk.news.launch.yahoo.com, "Burns claimed side effects from the augmentation treatment carried out at the London Centre for Aesthetic Surgery included painful swelling, blisters, heavy discharge, and an inability to eat, drink or speak. The damage was so bad doctors have since warned him his lips may need to be amputated, the singer said.

He claimed: 'What happened to me after a series of injections was far worse than any nightmare I could have envisioned. Not only was it agonizingly painful but it was physically repulsive in the extreme.'"

Burns claims to have undergone more than 100 operations over 17 months in a bid to reconstruct his face, and now hopes his story will prevent others from making the same mistake.

What hasn't this woman had altered! According to AwfulPlasicSurgery.com, it appears that Victoria's extra-extra-extra large lip phase was in 2004. My guess... she had them deflated as soon as her soccer star husband pointed out they were competing with her overly inflated chest.

In an April 17, 2006 post, AwfulPlasticSurgery.com writes: "Victoria Silverstedt, 1997 Playmate of the Year, is an apparent victim of trout pout. Her upper lip looks huge compared to how it looked just a few years ago. Did she need larger lips? No, she was already extremely attractive. Enhancing the size of one's lips to the extreme is not a good idea."
