Vincent Van Gogh cut off his ear in the name of love (or just plain craziness). Now, Australian Stelios Arcadious has had a third ear implanted into his left arm in the name of performance art.

According to The Daily Mail, it took Arcadious a decade to find a surgeon who found perform this radical procedure. The ear eventually came the UK's Nottingham Trent University's Digital Research Unit, which grew the ear from cells before implanting it last year.

But Arcadious' little experiment isn't done yet.

"I hope to have a tiny microphone implanted to it [the ear] that will connect with a bluetooth transmitter," he says. "That way you can listen to what my ear is hearing."
